BTI organizes a seminar on Islamic Financial Transactions

BTI’s commercial studies division organized a seminar on Islamic Financial Transactions. This comes as an attempt to enrich BTI’s trainees’ knowledge on how to use legal transaction methods in the financial field. This seminar is a part of the training program (National Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance) listed within the National Qualification Framework.
The lecture was presented by the Shari'a Controller, Head of Shari'a Coordination and Implementation and the Secretary of the Shari'a Supervisory Board at the Bahrain Islamic Bank, Mr. Hamad Farouk Al Sheikh. The seminar aimed at introducing commercial studies’ trainees with the general rules in Islamic Financial Transactions.
Mr. Hamad addressed, in his lecture, the Islamic economy and its principles and objectives, taboos in Shari'a and presented in details sale provisions, suspicious work in Islamic Banks and differences between Islamic and conventional banks, explaining ways of financing and investing in Islamic banks.
During the lecture, BTI’s Acting Director General Dr. Samah Al-Ajjawi stressed on the importance of providing training services to meet the training and educational needs of trainees in various sectors, including the banking sector. She added that she hoped for further cooperation with various public and private institutions that would serve BTI’s trainees and improve their personal and professional skills. She also pointed out that this would give them the opportunity to engage themselves in the local labor market smoothly.
