Seminar on "Technical Specifications and Regulations"

In cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the Instrumentation and Chemical division at BTI organized a seminar on “The Importance of Technical Specifications and Regulations” on Wednesday, 31st October 2018.

The seminar was attended by trainees of the Instrumentation and Chemical division as well as trainees of various Engineering programs and members of staff, and is one of the activities and events organized by BTI training divisions in order to enhance trainees’ knowledge and experiences in various fields related to their studies at BTI.


The seminar was presented by Ms. Fatima Mohammed Ahmed; Supervisor of the Development of Specifications at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, who discussed the difference between various technical specifications and regulations, the international and regional standardization organizations, the mechanism of developing local and Gulf specifications and the importance of technical specifications and regulations for consumers, manufacturers and traders.

Senior Assessment Specialist at the Ministry Mr. Rashed Isa, also participated in the seminar by talking about the positive impact of applying local technical regulations and the mechanism of evaluating the conformity of products available in the market with the local technical regulations and the applied procedures in case of non-conformity.

He also reviewed some examples of a number of technical regulations which were recently applied in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and ended with a number of tips for consumers on the specifications issue.
