Training for “Community Service” students at BTI

The Guidance and Counseling division at Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) organized a training program for a number of secondary school students completing the Community Service module which is mandatory for graduation from Secondary Schools.

The program was held with an aim to provide candidates with various life and job skills, and introduce them to work environment in general and to BTI environment in particular. The program included a number of practical activities in addition to seminars that address various important topics related to the world of work.

The Head of the Guidance and Counseling division Mr. Hassan Al Mutawaa said "The training program has been designed to enhance the candidates’ values of citizenship and belonging, develop their search for information skills and train them to produce interactive presentations. In addition to that the program familiarizes the participating student to work environments, BTI services and enhances their life skills such as their communication skills in addition to the problem solving and self-management skills”.

Mr. Al Mutawaa indicated that the Guidance and Counseling division cooperated with the Learning Resource Center (LRC) to implement the training program and provide participating students all services and facilitations needed in addition to the technical assistance to finish their projects and produce interactive presentations.

It is noteworthy that BTI annually receives a number of students from various secondary schools. The On-Job Training division coordinate with the relevant department at the Ministry of Education to receive the students. In 2018 the OJT division received 14 students who were transferred to the following divisions to finish their Community Service module: The Institutions’ Training Section (ITS), the Trainees’ Activities Division, the Admission and Registration Office and the Supporting Services Group.
