“Fire Prevention and Fighting” Drills for BTI Staff

The Occupational Health and safety Committee at Bahrain Training Institute (BTI) organized a one-day training workshop on “Fire Prevention and Fighting” that took place at BTI premises in Isa Town and attended by a number of training and non-training staff. The participants listened to an explanation about the various types of fires that break at workplace and inform candidates about ways of fighting fires.
On the aim of organizing the workshop, Director General Dr. Samah Al Ajjawi said “This workshop comes within a series of various training workshops and programs that BTI management seeks to organize in order to form and prepare a team of qualified and capable staff to act properly in emergency situations, particularly in case a fire breaks out at the workplace”.
It is worth mentioning that the workshop included a theoretical as well as a practical part; the theoretical part included a review of the methods and techniques of firefighting at the workplace; a description of the causes and types of fires and a full explanation of firefighting equipment that are in line with the applied specifications and conditions. The practical part included firefighting drills using fire extinguishers and other methods.
