BTI receives a delegation from MOL Counseling and Vocational Guidance Committee

Director General of Bahrain Training Institute (BTI), Dr. Samah Al Ajjawi, met with a delegation from the Counseling and Vocational Guidance National Committee at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development. The delegation included Mr. Hisham Al Ammadi, Head of Training Planning at the Training and Manpower Development Directorate at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, as well as Ms. Yara Al Mutawaa, from the British Embassy, accompanied by a delegation from the British Consulting Corporation; Careers England; which included Mr. Andrew Tillam, Ms. Joan Hensworth and Mrs. Kathleen Wykey.

The visit was held with the aim of identifying the vocational counseling and guidance services in addition to the on-the-job training services provided by BTI for its trainees, through its various training divisions.

During the meeting, Dr. Samah Al Ajjawi welcomed the visiting delegation and gave a briefing on the services provided by BIT different divisions. She indicated that BTI offers various training programs, either in the form of regular programs offered to high school graduates, or as short programs and courses specially designed for employees of different companies and institutions according to their needs and requirements.
Director-General confirmed that most of BTI training programs are listed on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
A short film introducing BTI and its different divisions was also shown during the meeting, followed by a tour around the institute facilities and buildings.
The meeting was attended by BTI Trainee Affairs Manager, Dr. Nahed Shuwaiter, who is also the representative of the Counseling and Vocational Guidance National Committee at BTI. It was also attended by Head of the Institutions Training Section (ITS) Ms. Khawla Al Buainain, Head of Guidance and Counseling division Mr. Hassan Al Mutawaa, as well as Dr. Zainab Tooq who is heading the Math and Science division.
It is worth mentioning that, the Counseling and Vocational Guidance National Committee includes in its membership representatives of ministries, government agencies and civil society organizations, and is responsible for developing plans aimed at developing vocational guidance and counseling programs.
