“Virtual” Induction Day for BTI new trainees

The Trainees Affairs Department at Bahrain Training Institute (BTTI) organized an online Induction Day for the new trainees starting September 2020. The event which marked the start of the training year 2020/2021; was held on Sunday, 20th September 2020 on Microsoft Teams.
At the beginning of the event, BTI Director General, Dr. Samah Al Ajjawi welcomed the new trainees and conveyed to them the congratulations of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, on their joining and admission to BTI.
Dr. Al Ajjawi confirmed that the Induction Day is held every year with the aim of introducing new trainees to the Institute and its training programs, and to give them an opportunity to meet with the trainers and administrators.
DG noted that the Covid-19 circumstances made it necessary for BTI to change to the virtual option in order to hold this annual event, adding that such a change is a learning opportunity which can be invested by trainees to refine their skills and ensure that they receive the highest level of training that qualify them for the job market.
DG also explained that the theoretical lessons would be presented on both Moodle platform and Teams application, whereas the practical part of the lessons that require the presence of trainees in laboratories and workshops would be presented through physical presence of trainees, taking into account the application of all the required precautions that have been determined to limit the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Also, speaking at the event, the Trainees Affairs Acting Manager Ms. Khawla Al Buainain welcomed the new trainees who joined BTI various training programs, in addition to attendees of the National Diploma Program in the Practice of Education and Training, explaining that the importance of the Induction Day, which is virtually held this year, is to guide the new trainees and provide them the information required to facilitate the training process; and to inform them of: BTI rules, regulations and laws, training services and other support services provided by the various divisions and departments, in addition to introducing them to the online distance learning applications and programs.
Program of the event also included a presentation introducing trainees to BTI rules and regulations, presented by Head of the Guidance and Counselling Division, Mr. Hassan Al Mutawa. This was followed by a video presentation that shows the how-to activate trainees’ accounts on Microsoft Teams and Moodle application.
At the end of the event, trainees were given an opportunity to raise their questions and inquiries which were answered by Ms. Khawla Al Buainain and Mr. Hassan Al Mutawa.
